Once a year on an extraordinary autumn evening in outback Australia the moon aligns with Mars in the southern skies and leads to an event never before seen by human eyes, until now. Off barbeques and from butchers’ trays across the country, sausages emerge from their slumber and escape together to form herds of running sausages. Their numbers swell to a mass stampede that whirls across the desert in what is, the greatest sausage run known to exist anywhere on the planet.
